The type of printing Catherine specialises in is called Intaglio printing. This involves printing an image from rolling a metal plate (with the image on it) and paper on top through a press with a bottom and top roller. The pressure of the rollers onto the paper and plate result in an image that is quite textural due to the embossed effects.

Within this type of printing there are various processes that result in an image.  Catherine uses three different methods, namely Etching, Dry Point and Carborundum which can be seen regularly throughout the online gallery.

The work Catherine produces is fundamentally abstract, inspired by the colour, line and texture of the Cornish landscape and energy of the surrounding sea.

Please keep in mind that the fidelity of color reproduction varies greatly from computer to computer, and the colors of the actual artworks are very likely much richer and nicer than what appears on your monitor screen.

The online gallery is split into two sections ; paintings and prints

Prints can be bought either framed or unframed.  Frames are available in limed or natural wood and are of conservation quality.
